This year the federal government is conducting the 2010 Census. The 2010 questionnaire is the shortest one in Census history, with only 10 brief questions. It is important for all U.S. residents to be counted in the process. Data from the Census helps to determine the planning for new hospitals, roads, job training centers, schools, new businesses and other programs essential to communities. As a resident of Clayton County, your participation is particularly important to assist in the economic development of the county.

You should receive your census questionnaire in mail by mid- March. If you do not receive a questionnaire, you will be able to pick one up from several public sites (check the website in March for a listing of those sites). Households should complete and mail back questionnaires upon receipt. Households that do not respond may receive a replacement questionnaire in early April. Census takers will also visit homes to help ensure that every resident is counted. Your information is CONFIDENTIAL. Federal law prohibits the sharing of information from the Census with any other organization or agency.
